BAMAKO (Reuters)-at least 36 people were killed in overnight visitors stampede Stadium in the capital of Mali, radio reported Tuesday.
Thousands of people gathered in Bamako to listen to the Islamic preacher, who was speaking in the framework of the Muslim festival of Maouloud, after starting the Modibo Keita Stadium stampede.
There was no official explanation for the stampede, but one witness told Reuters began when people went to the front, touch the preacher to the success and the toll it can be as 44.
An official involved in the organisation of the event said, almost all of those killed were women.
Crowds of people were gathering in the hospital Tuesday morning to identify individuals.
At least 26 people were killed during the last year in the stampede Maouloud near a mosque in Mali and line town with Timbuktu.
